About the Role
Our Data Engineering team is looking for an Associate Data Engineer. In this role, you will partner with clients, implementation teams, and internal stakeholders to help deliver high-quality data extracts and distribution solutions from Abacus’s core data management platform, which is built on scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures.
This is an early-career opportunity designed for recent graduates who are excited to build a foundation in data engineering, healthcare data, and client-facing delivery. As a trusted partner to the team, you will support client adoption of Abacus’s data management offerings while developing hands-on experience in data analysis, mapping, SQL, data quality, and cloud-based data services.
We welcome applications from new graduates, including candidates currently authorized to work in the United States under F-1 Optional Practical Training (OPT). Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire.
Your day to day
- Partner with clients, implementation teams, and internal stakeholders to understand data distribution requirements.
- Perform data analysis, data profiling, and data mapping to support accurate client outputs.
- Build and maintain data distribution extracts, SQL queries, and scripts with guidance from senior team members.
- Support optimization of data extract scripts for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Validate outputs, investigate data issues, and contribute to root cause analysis when discrepancies arise.
- Document requirements, workflows, data mappings, and technical decisions to support repeatable delivery.
- Participate in client meetings, project discussions, and internal working sessions to learn requirements and communicate progress.
- Collaborate with teammates to solve data challenges and contribute to a high-performing, inclusive, and supportive team culture.
- Bring curiosity and ideas for process improvements, automation, and more efficient ways of working.
