About the role

Summary We are seeking a driven and experienced Business Development Manager to originate and advance energy solutions for commercial and industrial (C&I) customers. This role is focused on identifying opportunities, building relationships, and shaping go-to-market strategies that deliver cost effective, sustainable, and decarbonized energy solutions. The ideal candidate brings strong industry connections, a proactive approach to opportunity development, and the ability to translate customer needs into actionable project pathways. Key Responsibilities • Identify, originate, and develop energy opportunities and solutions for C&I customers, with a focus on customized solutions including sustainability and decarbonization. • Build and execute go-to-market strategies within the company’s health care business initially, contributing expertise to refine offerings and market positioning; and subsequently leverage that positioning to other industries. • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders. • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking forums to generate leads and expand market presence. • Collaborate with internal teams (development, engineering, finance, legal) and external stakeholders. • Qualify leads and manage opportunities through the pipeline using CRM systems and structured processes. • Support corporate development and project execution teams by ensuring a seamless transition from origination to project development. • Understand customer energy needs and challenges, developing solutions that align with economic and sustainability goals. • Continuously monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to identify new business opportunities across several business sectors. Required Qualifications • Minimum 5+ years of experience in originating and developing opportunities within the health care or energy industry. • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence decision-makers. • Experience contributing to or leading go-to-market strategy development and execution. • Familiarity with CRM platforms and disciplined pipeline management practices. • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal. • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications • Established relationships in the health care sector or other C&I industries. • Experience with decarbonization solutions, such as renewable energy, distributed energy resources, or energy efficiency programs. • Understanding of commercial structures related to energy services. Key Skills & Attributes • Relationship-focused with strong networking and interpersonal skills. • Self-starter who can “hit the ground running” and drive results with minimal oversight. • Team player willing to roll up your sleeves and contribute across functions. • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market insight into actionable opportunities. • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through. • Effective communicator able to clearly articulate value propositions and solutions. • Passion for solving customer challenges and advancing sustainable energy outcomes.
