Engineering Manager - Content Discovery

The Challenge 🧩

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join the Buyer Tribe and lead a cross-functional engineering team responsible for redesigning the Home experience and building the next generation of our recommendations platform. You will guide the team through a complex technical and product transformation, including evolving the backend architecture, integrating advanced machine-learning capabilities, and supporting multiple recommendation use cases at scale. You will be responsible for keeping the roadmap healthy and delivery predictable while continuously balancing experimentation, technical quality, scalability, emerging scope, and stakeholder expectations. This includes helping the team handle pragmatic trade-offs between speed and long-term technical sustainability, and creating the clarity, focus, and operating environment needed to deliver high-quality outcomes to ensure the best user experience.

What You Will Do 👇

• Lead engineering for a topic team to ship high-quality software on predictable schedules

• Make sure that the meetings are effective

• Coaches people & the organization

• Provide vision, sense of purpose, and visibility to teams

• Implement process improvements

• Have regular one-on-ones with engineers, where you will:

• Set expectations, provide regular feedback & keep team members accountable (Conduct performance reviews)

• Develop a strong two-way feedback loop where you share organizational context and build a deep understanding of the engineer and how they work

• Support engineers and help reach a resolution when challenges arise

• Craft a fulfilling and engaging work experience through regular career growth and development conversation

• Iterate and improve our engineering processes and technical culture

• Participate in hiring and onboarding of engineers

What We’re Looking For 🔎

• You have experience leading engineering teams (Ideally +2 years)

• You have very strong verbal English communication skills (Spanish is a plus)

• You are comfortable with participatory management/servant leadership

• Positive attitude, excellent problem-solving, and critical thinking

• Quality-driven, attention to detail, and pragmatic

• Excellent communication skills, adaptability, and eagerness to learn

What Would Be A Plus 🚀

• Previous exposure to Tribes & Squads.

Do note that all our jobs are 📍 Barcelona based. We follow a hybrid model where flexibility rules. We commit to a minimum of 6 days per month in the office. Each team self-organizes to decide on cadence and in-person/remote rituals.
