About the role
About The Team: As the Senior Facilities Manager, you will lead all aspects of facilities and maintenance operations across the site, ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-performing environment. You'll oversee building and equipment maintenance, contractor and vendor relationships, budgets, and compliance, while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence. Leading a team of Facilities colleagues, you'll inspire high performance, deliver against key KPIs and objectives, and ensure the site operates to the highest standards of safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Lead, motivate, and develop the Facilities & Maintenance team to achieve outstanding performance and help every colleague reach their full potential.
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of site facilities, ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-performing working environment.
- Manage and coordinate maintenance teams and contractors, ensuring all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
- Act as the first point of contact for colleague queries, working closely with HR, Training, and other support teams where required.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Lead facilities procurement activities, including tendering and RFP processes, to secure best value and effective facilities management solutions.
- Implement and optimise central Building Management System (BMS) dashboards to improve visibility, control, and performance.
- Manage facilities and maintenance budgets, identifying opportunities to maximise value while maintaining service excellence.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, evaluating contracts and negotiating commercial terms to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve operational issues, escalating complex challenges to the Facilities & Maintenance senior leadership team where appropriate.
- Ensure full compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and all relevant company policies.
- Champion a culture of Food Safety and Health & Safety, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and recognised standards, including BRCGS and ISO, while promoting a proactive approach to risk management.
- Conduct regular audits, track corrective actions, and drive continuous compliance across Food Safety, Health & Safety, and other regulatory standards.
- Promote a strong safety culture by reporting incidents promptly, encouraging colleagues to raise concerns, and taking responsibility for maintaining a safe and compliant workplace.
Who You Are:
Essential
- Proven experience in facilities and maintenance management, with a strong track record of leading high-performing teams.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and facilities operations.
- Experience managing maintenance budgets, projects, and contractors to deliver safe, cost-effective solutions.
- Solid understanding of health & safety legislation, compliance requirements, and operational standards.
- Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality management standards.
- A continuous improvement mindset, using data and insights to drive operational excellence.
- Ability to foster a culture of high performance, safety, compliance, and accountability.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Proven ability to coach, develop, and inspire colleagues to achieve their full potential.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing performance and driving operational excellence.
- Experience managing employee relations matters, including disciplinary processes up to and including dismissal.

- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's degree desirable).
