Position Summary:

WellPower's Vocational Trainee program provides experience to individuals who have a mental illness and who wish to learn a job or vocation. The goal of the program is to help individuals obtain work related skills and experiences that will lead to regular employment in the communities where they live.

​ Due to the large number of applicants, not every applicant will be selected for an interview or hired- selection is fit focused to meet program needs. If selected, each program provide 9-11 months of learning experiences meant to support preparation for competitive employment. ​

The posted range represents the full hiring range. Offers will not exceed this range, the majority of candidates are placed near the midpoint based on experience and qualifications.

Job Duties & Functions:

  • Work with community members to assess their needs, barriers, skills, interests, and values, and then assist them with job search strategies/ employment searches, de-escalation strategies, finding education/ housing opportunities, or locating resources throughout the community
  • Maintain cleanliness of common areas and refill supplies (coffee, tea, snacks, Daily Market)
  • May work with individuals who need educational, physical, mental or emotional support
  • Provide welcoming trauma informed atmosphere by maintaining personal emotional regulation and engaging in active listening and de-escalation techniques
  • Assist with daily setup including but not limited to; serving lunch, turning on computers/ tv, preparing supplies/ resources, creating a tidy space, assist with room arrangements (moving chairs/ tables), Daily Market support and accurate data entry
  • Debrief with staff/ supervisor about any concerns, situations, or escalations
