About the role

About you and the role:

Commutations are core element of the “Enstar effect”. Reporting to the US Commutations Manager, the Commutations AVP is a key role and has significant responsibility in supporting the Commutations Department by driving the actions required to deliver the strategy and goals.

What you will be doing:

  • Identify commutation targets, engage counterparties, price transactions, and negotiate deals.
  • Contribute to the broader commutations strategy.
  • Identify and resolve internal and external business challenges related to commutations.
  • Work with Senior Management to include commutation plan savings in the Enstar US Business Plan.
  • Track progress against the commutation plan throughout the year.
  • Own all assumed and ceded commutations involving US-domiciled counterparties.
  • Liaise with Client Management teams on commutations for portfolio companies.
  • Represent the company externally with regulators, professional services firms, and the wider market as required.
  • Take reasonable steps to ensure the accountable business area complies with applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance, and Enstar’s shared values, including putting clients at the heart of the business.
  • Undertake additional duties as required, including valuation and/or due diligence.
  • Interpret internal and external issues and recommend solutions and best practices.
  • Guide others in resolving complex issues within the role’s specialist area and address complex problems affecting cross-functional business processes and outcomes.

What you will bring:

  • 7–10 years of insurance and reinsurance experience, preferably in Claims.
  • Experience negotiating settlements, including commutations or claims.
  • Experience working with a high degree of autonomy.
