As an Adult Care Specialist , you'll work alongside young adults (ages 18–24) in a residential setting, creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where they can grow, heal, and prepare for independent living. What You'll Do No two days are the same! You'll have the opportunity to: Build meaningful, trusting relationships with youth through encouragement, mentorship, and positive engagement. Help young people identify goals and celebrate progress toward achieving them. Create a safe, structured, and welcoming environment where everyone feels respected and supported. Teach practical life skills including hygiene, self-care, budgeting, community resources, healthy relationships, and independent living. Facilitate fun, engaging individual and group activities that promote learning, teamwork, and personal growth. Use trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches to help youth navigate challenges and build resilience. Support youth during difficult moments with empathy, patience, and effective crisis intervention techniques. Provide therapeutic interventions as outlined in individualized service plans and accurately document services provided. Prepare meals and encourage healthy daily routines. Transport youth to appointments, activities, school, work, and community events. Complete documentation in our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Communicate with teammates during shift changes to ensure excellent continuity of care. Participate in trainings, team meetings, and professional development opportunities to continue growing your skills. Help youth solve problems, make positive choices, and build confidence for successful independent living.
