The position will be responsible to increase revenues, grow the customer base and manage existing accounts in the areas of fleet planning and profitability. The position requires an aggressive, self-motivated individual with a strong sales aptitude and a desire to progress within the company. HLAs – HIGH LEVERAGE ACTIVITIES (focus actions that will return the highest impact): 1. Identify, pursue, and maintain a constant flow of potential customers that meet or exceed established goals through prospecting, networking, and referral activities. 2. Drive the rental fleet’s revenue by maintaining strong relationships with local and regional customers and maintaining high product utilization. 3. Provide long and short term solutions to the customer’s operational and financial needs. 4. Ability to converse with C-Level customers and prospects on the financial and operational aspects of full service lease. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES: • Overall responsibility for day-to-day sales and management of the Rental Department. • Achieve rental revenue, expense control and profitability objectives. • Sales and marketing of Idealease Rental Department. • Rental fleet equipment management. • Assist the management team in preparing an Annual Business Plan. Rental Sales • Responsible for developing and implementing a rental sales and marketing plan. • Develop and use a systematic approach to rental sales calls utilizing telemarketing, mailers and personal customer visits. • Develop and maintain relationships with large volume rental customers. • Provide weekly and monthly sales reports to management as required. • Establish Idealease rates for various equipment types through market analysis. • Maintain a customer/ prospect sales database. Rental Operations • Daily interactions with the Service department to ensure rental equipment is maintained according to company standards and DOT regulations. • Follow company procedures regarding credit policies. • Work with Rental Manager to ensure rental fleet is in available to rent. • Assist in rental billing as back up to the Rental Manager. • Maintain Idealease President’s Club data. Department and Personnel Management • Utilize daily yard check to focus marketing efforts on excess and under-utilized equipment. • Compare actual financial results monthly to the Business Plan and initiate corrective action as needed to ensure gross margin goals are accomplished. • Create a professional environment to assure cleanliness, safety and customer focus. • Communicate and cooperate with all department managers and personnel. • Assist in collection of past due invoices as needed. • Safeguard company assets by maintaining strong internal controls. • Understand company policies and procedures and assure that they are understood and followed by all personnel. Perform all other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: • A high school diploma is required. Combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. • College degree preferred. • Three to five years of proven sales and customer service experience is desirable but not required. • Proven detail oriented and results-driven salesperson with the ability to prioritize and handle numerous tasks simultaneously. • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required. • Strong written/ verbal communication skills required. • Ability to work independently and deal with people. • Strong written/oral communication skills are required. • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the location of the assigned territory. • Valid driver’s license required. PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: The position is located in the office environment, as well as duties performed outside. Mobility of walking, standing and bending is frequent. Dexterity, hearing and talking requirements are constant. Visual ability to detect situations of concern is constant. The employee will occasionally lift up to and over 50 pounds.
