Key Responsibilities

1. Global Vendor Supply Chain Management (SCM)

  • Drive logistics quality improvement by optimizing costs and leadtime while reinforcing on-time delivery execution.
  • Maintain relationships and, in partnership with the procurement team, lead negotiations with logistic partners to ensure optimal cost, quality, and service levels.
  • Monitor third party vendors performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives across logistic operations.
  • Lead systems improvements aligning with cross functional teams to the benefit of all global businesses at Coupang.
  • Get ahead of supply chain swan events and, where possible programmatically approach opportunity areas to stabilise COGS impact for our business (i.e. managing our currency hedging programme in collaboiration with Treasury department).

2. Global and local Vendors In-Stock Management (ISM)

  • Develop in-stock plans that balance cost, quality, speed, and innovation.
  • Collaborate with business, excellence, planning, and finance teams to improve forecasting accuracy and optimise Days of Coverage (DoC), balancing Lost GMV minimization and tight controls overs Aging Inventory.
  • Build frameworks to drive shifts in supplier capabilities and market conditions for both local and global vendors, including solving for Product Returns deploying more efficient out of country inbounding programmes aimed at reducing minimum order quantities across global vendors.
  • Lead systems and mechanisms improvements, aligning with cross functional and category teams, innovating across both to ensure a reduction in manual workload and scaling efficiency for the RSA in-stock team.
  • Innovate across core product groups to step change our capabilities to deliver product processing capabilities in-house or via third party vendors serving the business team plans to grow GMV and improve margins (i.e. in-house ripening systems for imported avocados).

3. Regulatory Governance (RG) Management

  • Ensure business continuity running in compliance with local and international regulations, minimizing any risk to customers at all time.
  • Run an agile and business-enabling RG team with mechanisms entrenched across our wider-team processes.
  • Simplify our compliance approach, making our processes and lawful requirements digestible to internal and external parties (esp. new vendors) but sophisticated enough to pre-empt defects and fix, at speed, ensuing issues.
  • Scalability through solid partnerships with 3rd party agencies and a shift in team culture from single category specialist to multi-category generalist, SLA reductions via process improvements and bottleneck removals, Suppliers compliance system deployment and scaling, Audits clearance through solid engagement of governmental agencies are the core areas to manage in order to ensure our Regulatory affairs team serves as an enabler and never as a bottleneck.
