About the role
Liquid Personnel is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join their Children’s Community OT Service.
This is a highly flexible role offering strong leadership, support, and the opportunity to work within a well-structured Local Authority setting supporting children and young people with disabilities in the community.
What will your responsibilities be?
- Assess children and young people with disabilities within home and community settings
- Provide recommendations for specialist equipment and housing adaptations
- Complete moving and handling assessments and provide safe solutions
- Interpret technical drawings and housing plans for adaptations
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, housing, and health professionals
- Ensure compliance with relevant children’s legislation and housing legislation
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to care planning

Desirable:

- Additional training such as:
- Manual Handling
- Fieldwork Educator
- Relevant in-service training
Key Knowledge & Skills:
- Understanding of Local Authority structures and responsibilities
- Knowledge of eligibility criteria for equipment and adaptations
- Ability to interpret technical plans and housing layouts
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary working skills
- Experience completing formal moving & handling assessments
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist
- Minimum 2 years post-qualified experience
- Experience working within a community setting
- Strong knowledge of:
- Children’s legislation and Local Authority responsibilities
- Housing adaptations and specialist equipment
- Moving and Handling practices and Health & Safety legislation
