The Celtic Collection Job Description DEPARTMENT Rooms Division POSITION Night Porter/Driver GRADE Team Member REPORTS TO Night Manager Note: This job description in no way states or implies that those duties listed below are the only ones to be performed by the employee occupying this position. Employees will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their Senior Manager. POSITION OVERVIEW Responsible for delivering exceptional guest service throughout the night, ensuring guests receive a warm, friendly and professional welcome at all times. The Night Porter / Driver plays a key role in supporting the overnight operation by assisting guests with requests, providing safe transportation across the resort, supporting the Night Management team and maintaining the security, cleanliness and presentation of the resort. The role requires a proactive, flexible and customer-focused approach, with a commitment to consistently exceeding guest expectations and upholding the standards and values of The Celtic Collection. GENERAL Responsible for helping to maintain a customer-focused culture which supports the values expressed in the Resort Ambition and the Resort's business goals of profitability and service quality. Establishes and maintain effective and positive relationships within the team as well as other departments. Complies with the resort's Health Safety, Security, Fire Safety and Hygiene policies, as well as all other resort policies and procedures. Report all situations that may present a danger to guests, colleagues or the business immediately to the relevant people and take action to rectify the situation where appropriate. To ensure that resources are used effectively, minimising waste to protect the environment and reduce costs. To perform related duties and special assignments as and when required. Delivery Responsible for delivering the ultimate in professional internal/external customer service with the standards expected and trained by the Department. Responsible for all stock and the care and control of all professional equipment within your working environment. Provide a warm, friendly and professional welcome to all guests and visitors. Assist guests with luggage and respond promptly to guest requests throughout the night. Support the Reception and Night Management teams with overnight operational requirements. Safely transport guests and colleagues around the resort using company vehicles whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Carry out valet parking duties in accordance with resort procedures. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and presentation throughout public areas, entrances and designated working areas. Ensure the Porte Cochère is clean, tidy and free from unattended vehicles at all times. Maintain resort vehicles to the required standards of cleanliness and presentation. Complete vehicle inspections and handovers in accordance with resort procedures, reporting any defects, damage or maintenance concerns immediately to the Night Manager. Report maintenance, health and safety or security issues promptly and accurately through the correct channels. Possess a good knowledge of the Resort, its facilities, services, local attractions and places of interest in order to assist guests effectively. Maintain a good working knowledge of the Resort's emergency procedures, including fire evacuation procedures. Maintain a working knowledge of resort computer systems relevant to the role. Ensure work areas, equipment and storage areas are clean, tidy and presentable at all times. Ensure luggage trolleys are clean, polished and maintained in good condition. Assist with overnight housekeeping-related requests, including the delivery of guest amenities such as additional pillows, bedding and other items as required. Wear full uniform at all times and maintain Resort grooming standards. Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Night Manager or Senior Management team. To ensure the main doors are kept closed at all times to enable the air conditioning units operate effectively in the lobby area. Responsible for consistently delivering exceptional customer experiences whilst reflecting the values and standards of The Celtic Collection. Training Responsible for attending all required training as scheduled. Actively participates in departmental training and development opportunities to enhance individual performance and support career progression. Leadership Maintains an understanding of the departmental objectives and contributes to a positive team environment, focussed on achieving the ultimate Department experience. Is present for all briefings and debriefs conducted by the Supervisor on duty. Team Building Responsible for contributing to team building sessions both within and outside the resort. Checking Contributes to the gathering of information as directed by the Department Manager including customer feedback, staff feedback, financial performance and any other as required. Evaluation Contribute to compiling periodic reports based on the checking process. Contributes to the analysis of information gathered and in proposing changes within the department. Innovation Supports the implementing of changes to ensure continuous innovations and improvements are made within the department.
