Assistant Cook

Winners, the leading supermarket chain in Mauritius is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual to join its existing team. Key Responsibilities: • Assist in placing orders and group orders as per product needs. • Follow ordering and delivery schedules for timely replenishment. • Check freshness, weight, and overall quality of received goods. • Apply FIFO and FEFO principles and monitor expiry dates. • Keep aisles clean, well organised, and properly faced. • Display items according to Planogram guidelines. • Ensure accurate pricing and correct product labels. • Install and remove promotional posters within required timelines. • Assist in intelligent buying to maximise margins. • Participate in promotional purchase periods (WAC optimisation). • Support sales boosting actions such as tastings and live selling. • Help train and support new recruits. • Maintain high standards of personal grooming and hygiene. • Relay customer complaints and questions to management. • Maintain a customer centric approach in all interactions. • Follow Food Safety Team guidelines, including DIAMOND Project. • Report any food safety issue immediately to management. • Ensure compliance with the Food Act and company food quality standards. • Comply with company quality standards and product specifications. • Contribute to delivering high quality service and customer satisfaction Job Requirements: • Minimum Form 1 or equivalent. • No previous experience required. • Strong attention to detail (labelling, stock accuracy, quality checks). • Good verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to multitask and maintain a clean, organised workspace. • Customer focused attitude and commitment to quality service. • Team oriented mindset; able to support new colleagues. • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure. • Proactive approach to problem solving. • High ethical standards in handling products and customer interactions.
