About the role
POSITION PURPOSE To implement the parish’s commitment to formation of preschool-aged (ages 1-5) children and their families. This includes preschool formation and support for the families of young children. ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS Collaborates with Pastor, staff and consultative bodies in implementing the mission of the parish. Leads preschool formation programs offering age-appropriate faith formation experiences that nurture spiritual growth through prayer, Scripture, liturgy, storytelling and family engagement. Recruits, trains, directs, schedules and evaluates volunteers to assist in the program. Manages and prepares the preschool faith formation space collaborating with the Pastoral Associate, Pastoral Assistant for Administration and facilities staff to ensure that it is safe, well-equipped and prepared for formation events. Identifies and prepares materials for preschool faith formation. Ensures that the environment, facilities and curriculum offered complies with safe environment guidelines of the Archdiocese of Seattle. Prepares formation materials and other resources for parents. Maintains a current level of knowledge and skills required for the ministry participating in regional and Archdiocesan professional meetings as appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned.
