About the role
Role Overview: We are seeking a proactive and creative Social Media Manager / Virtual Assistant to support a growing coaching and podcast business. This role is primarily responsible for creating, scheduling, and managing social media content while supporting podcast distribution and promotional assets. The ideal candidate is highly organized, communicates proactively, meets deadlines consistently, and can take initiative in content planning with minimal micromanagement. This is an ongoing, part-time position with opportunities to expand into additional creative and digital marketing projects over time. Scope of Work: Social Media Management Create and design engaging social media content for: Instagram (primary platform) Facebook (via Instagram automation) LinkedIn Produce approximately 3-6 social media posts per week (with potential to increase in the future) Assist with monthly content planning and content strategy Take initiative by suggesting content ideas and themes based on business priorities Schedule posts using Later Submit all content for approval by the agreed weekly deadline Podcast Support Upload completed podcast episodes to RedCircle Publish podcast episodes to distribution platforms Create short-form video clips from podcast recordings Add branded intro/outro slides and music in Canva Prepare podcast promotional assets for social media Graphic Design Design social media graphics using Canva Create YouTube thumbnails Update existing creative assets as needed Occasionally complete simple graphic editing tasks Creative Support Assist with ongoing branding updates Create additional marketing graphics as requested Support future creative projects Qualifications, the ideal candidate should have: Proven experience managing social media accounts for businesses or personal brands Strong Canva design skills Experience creating short-form social media videos Excellent attention to detail Strong written English communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Highly organized and deadline-driven Proactive mindset with the ability to suggest ideas rather than waiting for detailed instructions Ability to receive feedback and implement revisions promptly Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting podcasts Familiarity with personal branding or coaching businesses Experience with content strategy and planning Basic graphic editing skills beyond Canva Experience with YouTube thumbnails Tools Required, candidates should have experience using: Riverside Canva Later Notion RedCircle (or willingness to learn) Nice to Have: Showit WordPress Shifts & Hours: Part-Time; Starting with a minimum of 10 hours per week Flexible working schedule with weekly deadlines Weekly Deadline: All content requiring approval should be submitted by 2:00 PM every Friday to allow sufficient review time before the following week. Target Start Date: Flexible; prefers taking the time to find the right candidate. Shortlisting can begin immediately, with interviews and onboarding targeted for the following weeks. What Success Looks Like, the successful candidate will: Consistently meet weekly deadlines. Produce polished, engaging content with minimal revisions. Take initiative in planning and proposing content ideas. Require minimal day-to-day management. Help maintain a consistent online presence while allowing the client to focus on other areas of the business.
