About the role
SUMMARY This position will keep all floors (tile, carpet, cement, etc.) throughout resort properties meeting resorts high standards of clean. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Have complete knowledge of our floor cleaning equipment and all floor cleaning supplies. • Be familiar with the complex and outlying areas. • Exhibit great customer service skills with internal and external guests at GTRS. • Keep radios, pagers, keys and vans safe/clean and secure at all times. They are resort property and must be turned back in at the end of your shift. • Respond immediately to all calls received via a radio, phone, pager or headset. • Cleaning all complex carpets/tiles/cement. • Daily maintenance and cleaning of all floor care equipment. • Point out any problems or concerns to managers. • Help coordinate special cleaning of any floors that will need cleaned at different times during the day. • Ability to discuss politely and properly any special cleaning with other departments and their managers. • Good rapport with fellow employees and reflect positive attitude. • Must be in compliance with all GTRS grooming standards. • Consistently present a professional image to GTRS staff and its guests. • Follow all OSHA standards for machines and chemicals to promote a safe environment for all. • May need to work in other job title areas of the housekeeping department due to business levels, lack of performers or request from higher up positions. • Complete all assignments requested of you. • Must follow proper grooming and dress standards set forth by the Employee Handbook. • Maintain open line of communication with supervisors. • Must understand and abide by environmental practices of the resort. (Green Mission statement, etc.) EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Must have at least 6 months of prior experience in commercial floor care cleaning equipment. Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid Michigan driver’s license, and be insurable under the Resort’s policy. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES • Exhibit patience, positive personality, upbeat, energetic, team oriented, professionalism • Must have pleasant and tactful personality as there will be frequent contact with guests and employees. • Must have multi – tasking, organization and excellent communications skills. • Must possess a positive attitude at all times. • Must be able to meet firm deadlines. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES –N/A TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. • Constantly required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. • Ear pieces must be worn at all times so as to not interfere with ours guests stay. • Must be comfortable working with alone or with large groups of people.
