About the role

The Senior DevOps Engineer will accelerate Syspro’s software delivery capability by designing, automating, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and operational workflows. The role bridges development and operations, ensuring smooth, reliable, and secure movement of code from build through deployment into production. The DevOps Engineer will enhance system resilience, stability, and scalability through modern tooling, monitoring, and Infrastructure‑as‑Code practices. This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong collaboration across engineering, architecture, quality, and platform teams. Requirements Minimum Level of Education Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related IT field Beneficial Qualifications Relevant certifications Minimum Experience 3–5+ years of experience in software development, systems engineering, platform engineering, or DevOps Hands‑on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines Practical experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP Strong experience with containerisation (Docker) and Kubernetes Solid Linux systems administration and scripting experience (e.g., Bash, Python) Beneficial Experience Working in high‑availability or large‑scale production environments. Exposure to microservices architectures and distributed systems. Experience with DevSecOps practices Special Skills and Knowledge Linux systems administration Scripting (Bash, Python) CI/CD pipeline design and automation Git and GitOps workflows Docker and Kubernetes Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) Cloud platform expertise (AWS, Azure, GCP) Monitoring and logging (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch) Networking fundamentals, IAM, security, environment hardening Responsibilities Build, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines to automate code integration, testing, and deployment processes. Automate repetitive development, testing, and operational tasks to improve flow and reduce manual effort. Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation. Improve collaboration and workflow between development and operations teams to enhance delivery speed and reliability. Monitor application and infrastructure performance, proactively identifying bottlenecks, failures, outages, and system health concerns. Manage and maintain cloud and/or on‑premises infrastructure, ensuring scalability, stability, and performance. Integrate security practices into every stage of the software delivery lifecycle (DevSecOps). Implement and manage Docker containerisation and Kubernetes orchestration. Maintain Git version control best practices including branching, merging, code reviews, and GitOps workflows. Build, manage, and optimise monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to ensure full visibility across environments. Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot issues, improve deployment readiness, and optimise system performance. Maintain cloud platform resources and configurations, including networking, IAM, compute, and cost optimisation. Support release processes, including rollback strategies, blue‑green deployments, canary deployments, and environment consistency. Promote automation, engineering discipline, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across teams. Document DevOps processes, standards, and architecture patterns to support consistency and capability uplift.
