Medical Assistant I - Peninsula Locations

Position Summary The Medical Assistant I is dedicated to offering exceptional patient care; facilitates the efficient flow of the patient office visit experience while maintaining high quality and compassionate care. Major Duties and Responsibilities Perform patient intake to include medical history with accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Patient triage to include vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, height, and weight). Perform phlebotomy and ancillary clinical kit testing and specimen collection. Administering immunizations and variety of injections. Maintain temperature logs, QA processes, OSHA policies. Ensure accurate performance of EKG’s. Assisting physician with gynecologic, surgical, and wound procedures/exams. Completing pharmaceutical prior authorizations. Phone triage to include communication with pharmacies for patient medication refills. Performing Medicare Annual Wellness Visits. Exam room set up/ cleaning/stocking Electronic input of patient lab/radiology orders. Other duties as assigned.
