About the Service Our client is a specialist service providing evidence-based rehabilitation for adults with severe and enduring eating disorders, primarily anorexia. The service offers acute and step-down care for patients transitioning from hospital, with average stays around 18 months. The service is expanding, with plans to increase patient numbers and build two new wards.

Role Overview We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join the team as the sole OT, supported by an activity coordinator (OT assistant). You will play a vital role in supporting patients’ independence, social engagement, and functional recovery, including meal planning, reviewing OT plans, and facilitating community activities. This role is ideal for someone who is keen to learn, contribute ideas, and develop confidence as the service grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct occupational therapy assessments and develop individualised care plans

• Deliver 1:1 and group interventions addressing:

• Meal preparation and planning

• Sensory regulation

• Body image and identity work

• Self-care, hygiene, and daily functioning

• Social engagement and community integration

• Support exposure-based work around food and social anxiety

• Contribute to discharge planning and liaise with community services

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to MDT reviews

• Participate in reflective practice, supervision, and service improvement

Requirements

• BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy

• HCPC registration

• Experience in mental health or eating disorders (inpatient or community) preferred

• Motivated, flexible, and willing to learn

• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills

• Creative and proactive approach to patient care
