SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST - FT

Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist Department: Rehabilitation Services Reports To: Rehabilitation Director SUMMARY: Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient/family counseling, and appropriate referrals to inpatients and outpatients exhibiting a speech, language, hearing, voice, cognition or swallowing disorder. Maintains systematic records in accordance with professional guidelines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, collecting data, and documenting health insurance billings; as needed. Provides therapy for all types of speech, language, voice, cognition and swallowing disorders as well as educational and family counseling Performs diagnostic evaluations and provides results in written form for the medical record. Provides total case management and systematic reporting of progress, recommendations, and referrals in accordance with application guidelines. Actively participates in patient evaluation conferences with emphasis on discharge planning and referrals pertinent to continue rehabilitation and/or stabilization of clinical gains. Assesses and manages swallowing disorders in coordination with other departments. Keeps informed of changes and innovations in the field through professional contacts, literature, and workshops. Plans and conducts lectures and training programs on speech therapy and related topics for medical staff, students, and community groups. Maintain and promote a positive attitude toward clients and their treatment programs. Comply with the personnel policies, department policies and CHS Code of Conduct. Other duties may be assigned.
