About the role

WHAT WE DO MATTERS:

At The Knot Worldwide, we champion celebration - and that starts with celebrating our people. Our employees are passionate dreamers, thoughtful doers, and lifelong learners who power meaningful moments for millions around the world. We’re united by authentic connection, shared purpose, and a deep commitment to the global community we serve. Here, flexibility and belonging go hand in hand with high performance. Driven by our core values, we believe the best ideas come from empowered teams: those who consistently collaborate with intention to design solutions, spark ideas, and drive impact. Our people are at the heart of our success.

ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM: We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to help transform how couples discover, evaluate, and connect with wedding professionals, and how wedding professionals find high-intent couples who are a strong fit for their businesses.

The Knot Worldwide operates a large, two-sided wedding marketplace. Our challenge is not simply to help couples browse a directory; it is to create increasingly relevant, personalized matches across a highly fragmented market, while balancing couple outcomes, vendor value, marketplace liquidity, and long-term business growth.

In this role, you will own a meaningful product area within The Knot’s wedding vendor marketplace, with a likely focus on recommendations, matching, and personalization. You will identify opportunities, establish product direction, and lead work from problem definition through launch, measurement, and iteration.

You will work closely with design, engineering, data science, research, product marketing, and teams serving both sides of the marketplace. This role is a strong fit for someone who understands marketplace dynamics, is comfortable working with data and algorithmically powered experiences, and can turn ambiguous customer and business problems into a clear product strategy and measurable outcomes.

This role is a strong fit for someone who can operate independently, bring clarity to ambiguous problems, make thoughtful tradeoffs, and drive measurable customer and business impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the product strategy, roadmap, and execution for a meaningful area of The Knot’s wedding vendor marketplace, potentially spanning search, discovery, recommendations, matching, personalization, or vendor evaluation.
  • Develop a deep understanding of both sides of the marketplace and make product decisions that improve customer outcomes while strengthening marketplace health.
  • Identify and address marketplace challenges such as relevance, liquidity, supply quality and coverage, matching efficiency, trust, conversion, and the balance between customer experience and monetization.
  • Partner closely with data science, engineering, and design to develop and improve ranking, recommendation, matching, and personalization experiences.
  • Define the signals, data, and feedback loops needed to improve marketplace relevance and product performance over time.
  • Use experimentation, behavioral data, customer research, and marketplace metrics to evaluate opportunities, make tradeoffs, and measure impact.
  • Establish clear success measures across the funnel, connecting improvements in discovery and matching to meaningful customer and business outcomes such as engagement, qualified vendor interactions, bookings, vendor value, and GMV.
  • Drive outcome-focused execution from discovery through launch and iteration, helping the team learn quickly while maintaining a high bar for product quality.
  • Collaborate with adjacent product teams to ensure marketplace experiences connect coherently with the broader wedding-planning journey.
  • Communicate product strategy, evidence, decisions, and tradeoffs clearly to senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.

SUCCESSFUL SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER CANDIDATES HAVE:

  • 5+ years of product management experience, including meaningful experience building products for a two-sided or multi-sided marketplace.
  • A track record of owning a complex product area from strategy and problem definition through launch, measurement, and iteration.
  • Experience balancing the needs of multiple customer groups and making thoughtful tradeoffs among customer experience, marketplace health, and business outcomes.
  • Strong product judgment, including the ability to define ambiguous problems clearly, evaluate options, and drive decisions with incomplete information.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using behavioral data, experiments, marketplace metrics, and qualitative research to generate insights and evaluate impact.
  • Experience working closely with engineering and data science on technically complex or data-powered products.
  • A track record of building high-quality consumer experiences that change customer behavior and produce measurable business outcomes.
  • Clear, structured communication skills, including the ability to explain strategy, priorities, decisions, and tradeoffs to technical, commercial, and executive audiences.
  • A bias toward outcomes over outputs, with the discipline to iterate, change direction, or stop work when the evidence does not support continued investment.
  • Direct experience owning consumer search, recommendations, ranking, matching, personalization, or marketplace discovery products.
  • Experience with relevance systems, including query understanding, retrieval, ranking, recommendation models, cold-start problems, or feedback loops.
  • Experience defining and improving marketplace health metrics such as liquidity, match quality, conversion, supply coverage, customer satisfaction, retention, or transaction volume.
  • Experience in a marketplace involving considered purchases, services, local businesses, or infrequent but high-value customer decisions.

BENEFITS:

  • Private health insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Employee assistance program: on-demand mental health assistance program for any professional or personal matter
  • Optional salary advances
