Active participation in all student and community activities is an expectation throughout the entirety of employment . Required Qualifications : Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of hire. Must have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and four (4) years of experience working with children. OR a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science . Must have at least five (5) years of valid driving experience and possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License , or be willing to obtain one within 30 days of hire . Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure while working with individuals displaying a range of emotions and behaviors. Must be willing and able to drive regularly as part of job responsibilities. Must be willing to participate in ALL community activities with students, including but not limited to skiing, swimming, horseback riding , and other off-site activities. Requires mental flexibility , emotional stability , personal maturity , and creativity in dealing with difficult situations. Job Summary : As a Special Education Paraprofessional, you will support students’ academic, social, and behavioral growth through direct instruction, behavior support, and daily assistance. You’ll help implement IEP and Day Treatment goals, collaborate with teachers, and provide hands-on support throughout the school day. You will also actively participate in community activities—such as swimming, skiing, and horseback riding ensuring student safety, engagement, and inclusion. We are looking for a dependable, patient, and flexible team player who can support students with diverse needs in a positive, professional manner. Benefits begin at first of the following month after completing a full 30 days of employment (i.e. start date 4 January 2026, benefits initiate 1 March 2026). Pay Range : $18.67 – $24.31 an hour paid bi-weekly based off experience with youth and education. Shift : 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday Duties and Responsibilities : Supervise students at school and in community settings ensuring their safety. Assist students to complete daily routines and programs. Intervene in behavior management as indicated in individual crisis intervention and behavior modification programs. Maintain frequent and professional communication with supervisors, family members, schools, therapists, and other professionals. Complete appropriate documentation including notes, behavior documentation and incident reports. Perform basic cleaning duties to maintain a safe and healthy environment. Participate in meetings and training as scheduled or requested by supervisor. Assist with transportation of students to and from school, for community activities, vocational and educational experiences, which included driving company vehicles. Participate in community activities with the students. Administer medication as prescribed following proper procedures.
