The Opportunity Working under general supervision, Education Support Officers Grade 2 demonstrate relevant knowledge and experience to perform a wide variety of duties in an Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) service. Receiving general instruction on unusual, non-routine, difficult or new practices, the ESO OSHC actively supports the programs within an OSHC or Vacation Care program. Key responsibilities include: · Support the planning, delivery and evaluation of developmentally appropriate programs, including observing and recording children’s progress. · Work in line with relevant legislation, policies, and OSHC procedures to maintain compliance with the National Quality Framework and standards. · Provide care and support for children’s individual needs, including personal hygiene, inclusion of additional needs, and positive behaviour management. · Build positive relationships with children, families and team members, contributing to a collaborative and inclusive environment. · Carry out operational duties (e.g. admin tasks, incident reporting, food safety practices) and participate in training, meetings, and service activities. About You We are seeking someone who has the ability to: · Uphold and actively contribute to the Catholic ethos while maintaining professional standards, confidentiality, and safe work practices. · Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, families, and team members, including supporting children with additional needs. · Apply knowledge, initiative, and problem-solving skills to perform duties with minimal supervision, while seeking guidance when required. · Support teaching and OSHC programs through supervision, organisation, and administrative tasks, including effective use of Microsoft Office. · Remain organised, adaptable, and physically capable, participating in activities, responding to emergencies calmly, and engaging in ongoing training and development. Role Requirements • A Certificate III qualification in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent competencies. • Act in accordance with the CESA Code of Conduct and the Charter for Staff in Catholic Schools in South Australia. • Hold a current acceptable Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance & screening to work in Catholic Education South Australia. • Hold current certification in Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect in Education and Care Settings. • Approved First Aid qualifications which meet school and OSHC service requirements, as per ACECQA website. • As a worker, comply with the SA Work Health & Safety Act 2012 and, while at work, take reasonable care for their own health and safety. ◦ Take reasonable care that your actions or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of other persons. ◦ Comply, in so far as you are reasonably able, with any reasonable instruction given by the employer. ◦ Co-operate with any reasonable policy or procedure of the employer that is related to health and safety at the workplace that has been notified to workers. Being vaccinated against COVID-19 is not mandatory for CESA staff. It is highly recommended for all CESA staff to maintain vaccination status as recommended by the policy. Why Us?
