As our data center portfolio continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Assistant Superintendent to help lead field operations on some of the industry's most technically demanding projects.
Working alongside the Project Superintendent, you'll play a key role in coordinating field activities, supporting electrical crews, maintaining schedules, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to ICON's high standards of quality. Position Summary
The Assistant Superintendent supports the Superintendent in managing daily field operations from mobilization through project completion. This individual helps coordinate manpower, materials, subcontractors, equipment, safety, quality, and production while serving as a trusted resource for field personnel and project leadership.
This role requires someone who leads by example, communicates effectively, remains organized under pressure, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves when the job demands it. Success comes from balancing day-to-day execution with proactive planning to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.
What You'll Do
- Support the Superintendent in leading daily field operations on large commercial, industrial, and mission critical electrical construction projects.
- Coordinate electricians, apprentices, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain productivity and project schedules.
- Help plan daily and weekly work activities while monitoring manpower needs and production goals.
- Review drawings, specifications, BIM models, and installation requirements to ensure quality execution.
- Identify constructability challenges and work with project leadership to develop practical solutions.
- Promote ICON Electric's safety-first culture by ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and jobsite safety standards.
- Participate in daily huddles, toolbox talks, planning meetings, and coordination meetings with general contractors and other trades.
- Assist with inspections, testing, commissioning, punch lists, and project turnover activities.
- Coordinate material deliveries, equipment needs, and field logistics to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate field documentation, daily reports, labor tracking, and as-built information.
- Mentor electricians and apprentices while helping build a high-performing field team.
- Step into leadership responsibilities as needed to support the Superintendent and ensure project success.
What You'll Bring
- 7+ years of commercial or industrial electrical construction experience.
- Previous experience as a Lead Electrician, Foreman, General Foreman, or Assistant Superintendent.
- Experience supporting large commercial, industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, or mission critical/data center projects is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and electrical construction best practices.
