Job Summary: The Sr. Accountant will prepare financial reports to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. Duties/Responsibilities: Post Journal Entries, analyze resulting balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP or relevant accounting standards Verifies payment for payable invoices and cash receipts payments are charged to the appropriate GL accounts. Reconcile bank accounts monthly, scans deposits into the bank, verify deposits deposited by clinics, and addresses inquiries from banks. Set up new GL accounts and reconcile accounts monthly for accrual-based accounting. This includes accrued expenses, prepaids, fixed assets, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll tax and benefits liabilities. Assist in coordinating internal and external audits, prepare documentation for auditors, and ensure adherence to federal, state, and industry-specific regulations I dentify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and implement financial software or systems for better reporting and accessibility Serve as a key liaison with executives, department heads, and external auditors, providing insights and recommendations for financial strategies. Assist in developing budgets, monitor departmental and project expenditures, and provide financial forecasts to support strategic planning. Guide and mentor accounting staff. Lead special accounting projects, including but not limited to unclaimed property and reconciliation of pharmacy inventories As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software. Attends, participates, and/or assists in meetings, trainings, community outreach activities, continuing education opportunities, and other activities as required. Performs other related duties as assigned.
