Outpatient Referral Liaison

Job Purpose To efficiently process incoming referrals and other documents, create patient charts and cases, and maintain patients’ charts to allow for more timely patient scheduling and communication. While the Outpatient Referral Liaison will be assigned to a primary job position, they will be cross trained in other positions to help balance workload and to provide fill-in for co-workers as needed. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED. Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English required. Experience: Previous or directly related experience is preferred. License/Certification/Credential: None Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duty Percent of Time Referral Intake and tracking and chart and case creation 50% Update and maintain contents of patients’ charts 30% Verifies patients’ insurance benefits 10% Cross-trains with other employees to fill in as needed 5% Other duties as assigned 5% This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive list of all activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required by an employee.
