About the role
MEP Planning Engineer - Electrical Electrical Engineer with 7-10 years hands on experience in planning and executing the MEP services for medium to large scale Data Centre projects. Job location : Hyderabad. Specialization : BE /B Tech Electrical Experience: 7-10 years of hands-on experience in Data Centre / Critical Facility Operations & Maintenance Key Responsibilities Monitoring MEP system installation and execution at site, ensuring smooth day-to-day progress on planning tools. Coordinate with design teams, EPC contractors, vendors, and clients to maintain alignment and timely delivery. Apply working knowledge of erection and installation of HT / LT Panels, Power Distribution systems, Compact Sub-stations, Bus ducts, Transformers, DG sets, UPS, batteries etc. Monitor progress, and timelines, and proactively highlight any gaps or delays. Assist in planning and execution of MEP activities for greenfield and brownfield projects. Track and update testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP and electrical works for HVAC systems. Support troubleshooting of HVAC Electrical and environmental control systems during installation and testing. Monitor and update the timelines for material procurement, QA/QC checks, material inspections. Monitor DPRs, MPR’s and coordination, supporting project milestones and upgrades. Project planning and progress monitoring. Contractor & Subcontractor Management Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills. Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Revit MEP (optional). Knowledge of Planning, Scheduling, Tracking of MEP activities (core Electrical). Knowledge of MS Project and Prime-vira shall be added advantage for selection Documentation & Compliance Maintain QA/QC records: test certificates, inspection reports, redline/as-built drawings, and punch-list tracking. Ensure compliance with IS 732, IS 3043, IS 1646, IEC 61439, IEC 62271, NBC fire norms, and CEA regulations. Support preparation of O&M manuals and handover documentation. Safety Enforce EHS protocols, permit-to-work systems (LOTO), and PPE compliance during energization and live testing Required Qualifications Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (Diploma with strong site experience also considered) Experience: 7–10 years in electrical execution/commissioning, preferably on data centre, industrial, or critical infrastructure projects Certifications (preferred): Uptime Institute ATD, NEBOSH/IOSH (safety), relevant OEM commissioning certifications (ABB, Schneider, Siemens panels) Key Attributes Strong site coordination and vendor management skills Ability to read and cross-verify multi-discipline drawings quickly Structured documentation habits (checklists, sign-off registers) Comfortable working under tight commissioning timelines with multiple stakeholders (PMC, client, OEM, contractor) Required Skills LT/HT panel systems, compact substations, transformers (Dry-type/Oil-filled), DG synchronization UPS topologies, PDU/RPP systems, static transfer switches Reading/interpreting SLD, GA, cable schedules, and BOQ/BOM IEC 61439 (LV switchgear), IEC 62271 (HV switchgear), IS 3043 (earthing) MS Excel/Project for scheduling and tracking; AutoCAD (basic, for markups) FAT/SAT/IST protocol preparation and execution
