Position Summary: The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Claflin University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate instruction, curriculum development, student mentoring, scholarly activity, and service while helping advance the growth and strategic direction of the Computer Science program. The department seeks a faculty member with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Data Science and Analytics Cybersecurity Software Engineering Cloud Computing Computer Systems and Networks Database Systems Human-Centered Computing Emerging Computing Technologies Candidates with interdisciplinary interests and experience working with undergraduate researchers are especially encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Computer Science and related disciplines. Develop and deliver course content in alignment with program curricula. Advise, mentor, and engage students in research, internships, and career preparation. Maintain active scholarship and pursue external funding. Participate in departmental, university, and community service. Support assessment, accreditation, and continuous improvement activities.
