Friends' Central School Overview Friends' Central School is an independent, coeducational Quaker day school founded in 1845 and serving approximately 819 students in Nursery through grade 12. Located in the Philadelphia suburbs, the School has two campuses. Assistant Head Coach of Friends’ Central Aquatics The Assistant Head Coach of Friends’ Central Aquatics (FCA) is responsible for leading, coaching, and the overall competitive swimming program for age group swimmers from ages 5-12 years of age. They are responsible for creating and executing a strategy for the continued success of all swimmers and developing the skills and talent of the coaching staff. Responsibilities: Design the seasonal plan for the Age Group Program that fits within the scope of the group goals the Head Coach’s Philosophy Provide leadership and instruction to the age group coaches and swimmers Ensure continued growth and excellence of FCA and FCS Swim Programs. Assist Director and Head Coach with planning monthly staff meetings Ensure regular communication with parents at the age group level Assess new swimmers during evaluations Adhere to all USA Swimming and Middle Atlantic Swimming guidelines and policies. Model relationship-building skills in all interactions. Assist in conducting meetings with Head Coach & Director of FCA Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with the FCA and FCS community, including current FCA and FCS swim families. Essential Job Tasks : Provide hands-on direction for the Age Group swim team program on a daily basis, including writing practices consistent with the program’s approach and focus, as well as conducting practices for several different levels within the Age Group Programs. Ensure regular communication with age group assistant coaches on daily basis Oversee assistant coaches working with the Junior I & II swimmers. Develop effective communication (both written and verbal) with swimmers and families. Coordinate meet entries with the FCA Head Coach. Manage team enrollment and any on deck matters for Age Group swimmers at practices and meets. Substitute for other coaches as needed.
