About the role
SUMMARY The Stamp Operator is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating the GT SCHMIDT dot-peen marking machine to permanently mark manufactured parts according to work orders, drawings, customer requirements, and company procedures. Programming is completed using a Windows-based computer system. The employee will also be trained to program, set up, and operate the KUKA robotic system used within the manufacturing process. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Learn to program, set up, and operate the GT SCHMIDT dot-peen marking machine. Create, edit, save, and retrieve marking programs using Windows-based software. Enter required marking information, including part numbers, heat numbers, lot numbers, serial numbers, date codes, logos, and customer-specific information. Learn to program, set up, and operate the KUKA robotic system. Review work orders, routers, blueprints, technical drawings, and stamping instructions before beginning each job. Verify that the correct parts, quantities, and marking requirements match the applicable work order and drawing. Adjust marking location, character size, spacing, depth, speed, and orientation as required. Position, fixture, and secure parts before operating the equipment. Complete and inspect a first-piece sample before continuing production. Inspect markings throughout the production run for accuracy, legibility, depth, location, and completeness. Maintain separation and identification of stamped, unstamped, accepted, and nonconforming parts to prevent mixed part numbers, heats, lots, or customer orders. Stop production and notify supervision or Quality personnel when marking information is incorrect, unclear, or does not meet requirements. Maintain accurate production, inspection, traceability, and job-completion records. Grind or prepare parts and marking surfaces when required. Perform routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance on assigned equipment. Report machine malfunctions, software issues, damaged tooling, and unsafe conditions. Operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment after completing required training and authorization. Safely load, unload, move, and stage materials. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety, quality, and operating procedures. Work overtime and weekends as production needs require. Perform other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
