About the Role As Marketing Manager for EXPO CHICAGO and The Armory Show, you will play a central role in planning and executing integrated marketing campaigns for two of the world's leading contemporary art fairs. Working closely with the Director of Marketing and collaborating across departments—including VIP, Partnerships, Digital, Programming, Press, Exhibitor Relations, and Design—you will oversee the development and delivery of marketing initiatives across email, web, social media, ticketing, print, and onsite communications. This is a highly collaborative, detail-oriented role that requires exceptional project management skills, strong writing abilities, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The ideal candidate is an organized and proactive marketer who is passionate about creating seamless audience experiences and helping connect global audiences with contemporary art. This is a full-time role and qualified candidates must be based in Chicago, IL or New York, NY. You'll be part of a hybrid team that values both connection and flexibility. We'll cover the details of our hybrid schedule during the interview process. The salary range for this role is: $69,000 to $74,000 Salary is determined by market data, experience, location, and internal banding. Ranges will be discussed transparently during the interview process. What Success Looks Like: Marketing campaigns are delivered on time and to a high standard → Email, website, social media, ticketing, print, and onsite marketing materials are consistently launched on schedule with minimal revisions or errors. Cross-functional marketing projects run smoothly → Strong partnerships are established across Digital, VIP, Partnerships, Programming, Press, Exhibitor Relations, and Design, resulting in clear communication, efficient workflows, and successful campaign execution. Digital marketing assets remain accurate and engaging throughout the campaign cycle → Websites, newsletters, VIP communications, and ticketing platforms are regularly updated, thoroughly proofread, and optimized to support audience engagement and ticket sales. Onsite marketing materials are delivered accurately and on schedule → Signage, printed guides, maps, and promotional materials are produced with exceptional attention to detail and are ready for installation ahead of fair opening. Marketing operations become more efficient and data-informed → Project timelines, trackers, and reporting are maintained throughout the campaign, with post-fair insights and recommendations contributing to continuous improvement for future editions. What You'll Own: Own the marketing content calendar, including email campaigns, website updates, ticketing communications, and audience engagement initiatives throughout the year and during fair campaigns. Manage the production of key marketing assets, including websites, printed guides, show maps, signage, VIP materials, and digital content, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery. Partner cross-functionally with VIP, Partnerships, Digital, Programming, Press, Exhibitor Relations, Design, Data, and Operations teams to deliver cohesive marketing campaigns and visitor experiences. Coordinate with external vendors and partners—including ticketing providers, graphic designers, media partners, hotel partners, and printers—to execute marketing initiatives and onsite activations. Support sponsorship and partnership marketing by delivering agreed-upon promotional assets, campaigns, and cross-promotional opportunities. Develop compelling written content for newsletters, websites, social media, and editorial features that engage audiences and reinforce the fairs' brand positioning. Maintain marketing project timelines, trackers, and documentation while contributing to post-fair reporting and campaign analysis to improve future marketing performance. Serve as a key member of the onsite fair team, overseeing the implementation of marketing materials and supporting the successful delivery of both fairs. What You Bring: 3–5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, event marketing, or a related field, preferably within the arts, cultural, luxury, media, or live events sectors. Proven experience managing integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including email, web, social media, print, and digital communications. Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and deadlines simultaneously. Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail an brand consistency. Experience working collaboratively across cross-functional teams and coordinating with external vendors, agencies, and partners. Proficiency with email marketing platforms (such as Mailchimp), content management systems (CMS), and project management tools (Notion). Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends during fair production and event periods.
