Biology - Student Laboratory Assistant

Job functions include: - preparing media/reagents, aliquoting solutions, and handling chemicals - caring for living specimens and handling preserved specimens - moving/distributing equipment, models, supplies, and glassware - setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting instruments and other electronic devices - installing software, configuring, backing up, and troubleshooting computer systems - cleaning laboratory surfaces, equipment, supplies, and glassware as needed - communicating with faculty and staff to ensure that laboratory activities are set up, restocked, and cleaned up in a timely manner - collecting, segregating, and/or disposing of laboratory wastes properly - completing work assignments safely using necessary personal protective equipment and other safety devices - assisting with inventory control, safety data sheet collection, and data entry operations - performing other general laboratory tasks as assigned
