About the role
Summary:
Directs and coordinates activities of contract security services company branch operation to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations and maximize profits by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned by the Regional General Manager or President:
- Plans, develops, and implements branch policies and goals.
- Coordinates activities of departments such as operations, sales, and administration to effect operational efficiency and economy.
- Leads in meeting client needs; meets with clients regularly, listens to issues, provides security and technical expertise, and offers solutions. Ensures complete customer satisfaction.
- Coordinates all operating activities with all other functions of the organization to obtain optimum service and utilization of human resources and equipment; creates action plans around key problem areas and constraints.
- Directs and coordinates promotion of security services performed to develop new markets, increase the share of the market, and obtain a competitive position in the industry.
- Develops and manages the branch annual budget and manages the monthly P&L. Identifies areas in which reductions can be made, and maintains the operating budget. Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
- Confers with branch and corporate personnel and reviews activity, operating, and sales reports to determine changes in programs or operations required.
- Promotes organization in industry meetings as appropriate and attends trade associations.
- Manages security operations business plans to include all program requirements, labor hours, cycle, production costs, and image.
- Ensures the successful operational implementation of new contract start-up, including personnel requirements, material, training, facility, and equipment needs.
- Reviews service and operating reports and directs the resolution of operational, service, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent lost coverage; Partners with Human Resources to ensure thorough training of all assigned employees in the area of client, company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations. Coordinates and/or conducts client/site-specific training and annual refresher training for security personnel, as well as meets corporate training standards.
- Ensures that all contractual scheduled hours with a minimum of unbilled overtime. Ensures that overtime costs are managed effectively within company targets.
- Develops and maintains operational procedures so that valid, site-specific post orders are always available for emergency reference by the security staff.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages 3-5 subordinate Operations Managers who supervise a total of 200 – 700 employees. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of branch. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
