About the role
Overview: Service of food and/or beverage to include the delivery and order-taking of any food and/or beverage items. This task is to be handled in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely and professional manner resulting in a very high level of guest satisfaction. Responsibilities: • Prepare, deliver and service orders. • Responsible for preparing, presenting, and collecting payment for each guest check. • Responsible for delivery and in-room presentation of Amenities. • Responsible for delivery of select guest beverages. • Maintain a full understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage items on our menus and serve them accordingly. • Perform and adhere to established standards of the preparation, presentation and delivery of high-quality service to our guests. • Determine and adjust the type of service to be provided, according to the needs of the situation, in order to maximize the degree of guest satisfaction. • Ensure that all guest and back of house areas are kept clean and organized. • Comply with all safety and health requirements according to the city health codes and department expectations to include but not limited to: dates and labels on all prepared food, proper levels of soap and sanitizing solutions, maintaining cleanliness of work area, etc. • To be familiar with all services and facilities offered by the hotel. • Be courteous and display a professional attitude throughout service. • To handle guest inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints or problems to supervisor if no immediate solution can be found and assure follow up with guest. • Understand and adhere to the rules & regulations established in the Employee Handbook and the hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety. • Report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform at all times. • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times. • Complete all side-work and daily responsibilities by the end of the shift. • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and management. • Attend all designated staff meetings and training sessions • Adhere to cash handling standards • Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure clean uniform and professional personal appearance; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certifications Qualifications: • Previous serving experience preferred • BASSET and Food Handler certifications are required • Meet minimum age requirements for jurisdiction. • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays. • Ability to sit/stand/walk for extended periods of time • Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance
