About the role
Barge Design Solutions is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Structural Project Engineer (PE and/or SE) to join our growing Structural Engineering team. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in structural design, analysis, and project delivery, and will serve as the structural lead and Engineer of Record for a variety of project sectors including Industrial, Healthcare, Mission Critical/Data Centers, Commercial, Federal, and Water/Wastewater. This role is ideal for a licensed engineer who thrives in a technical leadership position, enjoys mentoring junior staff, and collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities: Serves as Structural Lead and Engineer of Record for projects across multiple market sectors Performs and oversees structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, and foundation structures Directs and mentors Junior Engineers and Structural Designers, providing technical guidance and quality control Prepares and reviews calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports for accuracy and constructability Coordinates with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery Provides technical guidance on project scope, budgets, and schedules for assignments Conducts site visits and construction observations to support design intent and resolve field issues Completes assignments within budget and schedule while working with design teams involving multiple disciplines Provides career development mentoring to early-career engineers Assists in client contact and communication, and attends client meetings Keeps informed of new developments and requirements affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending changes in programs or applications Assists with the preparation of proposals Stays current with applicable codes, standards, and best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Performs other duties as required
