Newsweek is seeking a U. S.-bas ed Social Me dia Freelancer to provide weekend coverage for a three-month assignment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced digital environment and enjoys engaging audiences across platforms. The freelancer is expected to complete key deliverables on Saturday and Sundays from 8:00 am ET to 7:00 pm ET to ensure Newsweek’s social presence remains active, timely , and aligned with editorial priorities over the weekend .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Scheduling & Publishing : Post and manage content across Newsweek’s social media channels (Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, Bluesky, Threads, WhatsApp, Reddit and LinkedIn).
  • Engagement, referrals and monetization to be driven through creating and scheduling four posts per hour while working closely with the editorial to ensure timely and accurate content.
  • Audience Engagement : Monitor comments and trends; respond appropriately to foster community interaction.
  • Real-Time Coverage : Collaborate with editors to amplify breaking news and trending stories during weekend hours.
  • Analytics & Reporting : Track performance of weekend content and provide insights to the social media team. <span data
