About the role
As a Flight Operations Engineer , you will be a key part of our Flight Operations Team , supporting the local manufacturing and operational deployment of advanced drone systems in Romania. Together with our World-Class Team, you will play an empowering role in delivering systems for one of Romania's most significant defense procurement programs, with drone assembly taking place entirely in Romania under the European SAFE initiative. The Romanian production site will not only support local defense programs but will also contribute to fulfilling customer orders across Europe and support the delivery of mission-critical systems for Ukraine, reinforcing Quantum Systems' commitment to strengthening European security and defense capabilities. As part of this strategic investment, Quantum Systems is rapidly expanding its presence in Romania and plans to hire up to 50 employees in 2026 and up to 150 employees in 2027 . The Brasov site will become a key manufacturing and operational hub within our European production network, creating exciting opportunities for professionals who want to contribute to cutting-edge defense and autonomous technology programs. https://startupcafe.ro/romania-achizitie-drone-startup-german-quantum-systems-safe-98623 You will be working closely with stakeholders from the Production, Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to ensure that every UAV leaving our Romanian production facility meets Quantum Systems' quality, performance, and safety standards. Your mission will be to perform functional and flight acceptance testing of completed aircraft, identify and document deviations, support root cause investigations, and ensure that mission-critical systems are ready for customer delivery and operational deployment. What is your Day to Day Mission: Perform functional inspections and acceptance testing of completed UAV systems. Conduct pre-flight checks and verify aircraft readiness prior to test flights. Execute production acceptance flights according to established testing procedures. Evaluate aircraft performance, system functionality, flight behavior, and mission readiness. Verify proper operation of avionics, payloads, sensors, communication systems, and ground control stations. Document test results, defects, non-conformities, and corrective actions. Identify failures, troubleshoot issues, and support root cause investigations. Collaborate closely with Production and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues identified during testing. Ensure all aircraft meet quality and operational requirements before customer delivery. Support continuous improvement of testing procedures, quality standards, and production acceptance processes. Maintain accurate testing records and release documentation. Contribute to the development of test procedures, checklists, and operational work instructions. Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures during all testing activities.
