Assistant Director of Nursing (LPN/LVN)

Position Summary Plans, coordinates and provides total nursing care for patients and provides supervision and guidance to clinical staff members. Scope of work may be modified by state specific rules under the Nurse Practice Act. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Drives the continuous quality improvement initiatives of the nursing function by building cooperation within their team and across team lines 2. Initiates and leads team in development of individualized nursing care plans 3. Assesses and documents the customer's condition and nursing needs 4. Accurately and promptly implements physicians' orders 5. Assigns nursing care to team members in accordance with the resident's needs and the person's capabilities and qualifications 6. Supervises, directs and evaluates UMs, LNs, CNAs and UCs 7. Administers medications, starts IVs and performs treatments for assigned residents, and documents that treatment as required by PureHealth, and local, state and federal rules and regulations 8. Participates in orientation, training and in-servicing of team members 9. Assists physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state specified Nursing Practice Act 10. Ensures that supplies are utilized economically and that equipment is clean and maintained in a safe manner 11. Reports and records pertinent observations and reactions regarding customers 12. Coordinates nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments 13. Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in customers 14. Interviews applicants and recommends hires. Participates in counseling, disciplinary action and termination of staff, to extent permitted by state practice act 15. Supervises team, which includes scheduling and directing the nursing staff to extent permitted by state practice act 16. Attends and participates in in-service training.
