Lumber Yard Lead - Building Center

Summary : This position will oversee the effective management of yard inventory and ensure a outstanding customer experience at the building center. This position will r eceive and maintain inventory and yard equipment and assist customers in the yard and behind the counter. The role will also be the point person to build loads for delivery to customer job sites. This key position will ensure sales transactions and deliveries are processed correctly and is critical to building a first-class customer experience. This position may also support other parts of the Federated organization during the slow season and may include propane delivery, sales support or other duties as arranged. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Completes daily operations task lists for yard and office. Manage yard operations while supporting front counter and sale team. Receiving Inventory - Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices. Examines new stock to verify conformance to specifications. Organizes and stores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material. Helps locate and load customer orders and cuts stock to size to fill order. Prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock. Requisitions articles to fill incoming orders and fills orders or issues supplies from stock. Compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments. Marks identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles and makes adjustments or repairs to articles carried in stock. Determines methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space. Moves or transports material or supplies to other areas and departments using a commercial motor vehicle/boom truck, forklift, hand lift and manually. Maintains inventory and other stock records. Other duties as assigned.
