About the role

Amca is building America’s new industrial base. Since the 1990s, our ability to build new aviation and military systems and maintain the ones we already have has eroded. Today, the gap between what the nation needs to produce and what it is capable of producing is the largest it has been in generations.

To help close that gap, Amca rapidly develops and manufactures new critical components and subsystems required to build and sustain the planes, military vehicles, and core infrastructure America needs. Today, we operate seven factories nationwide, including our advanced prototyping and testing headquarters in El Segundo, and deliver avionics, hydraulic, and electrical components for platforms such as the F-35, F-16, F/A-18, 737MAX, 787, A320neo, A321, Mk-48, and M1 Abrams.

Overview:

Precision Inspectors are the last line of defense between a part on the shop floor and a part on an aircraft carrying pilots or passengers. You'll verify that components for platforms like the F-35, 737MAX, and M1 Abrams meet exacting standards, using drawings, CAD models, and precision tools to catch what can't slip through — and partner with engineering to fix what does.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed inspections for in-process and final inspections on machined parts and electrical/mechanical assemblies, using detailed drawings and CAD models to verify conformance to manufacturing and design requirements
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are complied with for the receiving and storage of incoming parts and materials
  • Research, prototype, and implement new inspection tools that meet all design and business requirements
  • Document nonconforming product and assist engineering in root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Support quality management (QMS) policies and procedure documentation, and assess compliance with company and industry standards, initiate and lead continual improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
