Position: Account Manager – Nutritional Ingredients & Supplements Territory: Midwest, USA (MI, OH, IN, IL, MO, IA, MN, NE, ND, SD) Location: Ideally, this person is based in Illinois (Chicago area) Status: Full-time Permanent (1) Are you a results-oriented sales professional with a strong background in ingredient distribution and a deep understanding of the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or dietary supplement industries? We are currently seeking a motivated and entrepreneurial Account Manager to lead business development and account growth across the Midwest region of the United States. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a high-potential territory, develop strategic customer partnerships, and contribute to the continued success of a growing organization. Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for expanding Quadra’s presence throughout the region by developing strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and promoting our industry-leading products and services. The ideal candidate brings technical sales experience within the ingredients distribution market, an established network of industry contacts, and a reputation for delivering exceptional results. Frequent travel within the assigned territory will be required. Success in this role will come from your ability to develop and execute strategic growth plans, stay ahead of industry trends, understand customer needs, and collaborate effectively with internal teams. What would be your main responsibilities as an Account Manager? : • Drive and develop strategic sales with both new and existing customers in addition to maintaining existing customers in the sales territory (hunter mentality) • Leverage Quadra’s industry reputation and internal/external resources to deliver exceptional service and tailored solutions to customers • Proactively identify and engage potential clients through daily prospecting and targeted outreach, including cold calling, networking, and attending industry events. • Qualify and influence key decision makers by understanding their business needs, challenges and objectives. • Present and position Quadra’s value-added product portfolio through on-site customer visits, joint calls, and professional presentations • Manage and strengthen key customer relationships in alignment with Quadra’s core values and long-term strategic vision • Building and maintaining customer relationships with key decision makers/influencers to obtain repeat and new sales • Consistently meet or exceed annual sales, margin, and growth objectives through effective territory management and strategic account planning • Partner with customers to troubleshoot issues, identify optimization opportunities, and deliver practical, results-driven solutions • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations, and business cases that communicate value and ROI • Manage tight timelines and deal with after hour emergencies • Negotiate and close high-value contracts, ensuring seamless integration of customer requirements. • Provide accurate and timely weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting, sales forecasts, and account activity updates • Conduct business in an organized and time-efficient manner and allow maximum time for prospect contact and sales opportunity • With your extensive industry experience, serve as a Subject Matter Expert, providing guidance, market insights, and technical knowledge to both customers and internal teams. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills: • Completed a bachelor’s degree in science, business, commerce, or a related field. • 5+ years of experience in the supplement, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, dietary supplement, or ingredients industry, with a solid understanding of ingredient applications and market dynamics. • 3–5+ years of B2B sales experience, including prospecting, negotiation, business development, account management, and closing. • Experience with excipients, desiccants, and capsules is strongly preferred. • Proven ability to build trusted customer relationships, identify opportunities, tailor solutions to client needs, and effectively communicate value propositions. • Strong knowledge of the supplement industry, market trends, regulations, and industry developments. • Existing industry contacts and professional network are considered an asset. • Product formulation or chemistry background would be an asset but is not required. • Demonstrated success in growing sales and maintaining long-term customer relationships. • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple sales opportunities simultaneously. • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight travel within Canada and the United States. • Valid passport and driver’s license required. • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs). • Strong computer skills, including experience with CRM platforms (preferably Salesforce) and the Microsoft Office suite.
