Senior Linux/UNIX System Administrator

Job Description: The Linux/UNIX System Administrator will manage and maintain AFTAC’s Linux-based systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role will involve managing system resources, performing proactive system maintenance, handling troubleshooting tasks, and supporting cloud-based Linux environments. The administrator will also provide training and guidance to junior staff and assist in system migrations. Key Responsibilities: Administer Linux/UNIX-based systems, including RedHat and Solaris, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Perform proactive space management, scalability improvements, and implement high-availability strategies. Support system migrations, including physical-to-virtual conversions and cloud integrations. Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies. Troubleshoot complex system issues and perform root cause analysis to ensure system uptime. Develop and document scripts for automation of administrative tasks. Assist in the development of IT infrastructure replacement plans and hardware refresh cycles.
