About the role

Responsibilities • Assist in setting up and operating manual lathes, grinders, and other machining tools under supervision • Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately • Learn to measure workpieces using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments • Support the execution of machining tasks involving metal and plastics materials with attention to detail • Gain experience in using hand tools, power tools, tooling, and fixtures for machining operations • Develop skills in blueprint reading, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and basic math calculations relevant to manufacturing processes • Participate in quality inspections utilizing measurement tools and ensure adherence to quality standards such as CNC quality inspection procedures Experience • No prior professional machining experience required; however, familiarity with basic math, measurement tools (calipers, micrometers), and mechanical concepts is preferred • Strong interest in manufacturing, metalworking, or CNC technology is highly desirable • Basic understanding of blueprint reading and mechanical blueprint interpretation is a plus • Willingness to learn CNC programming concepts including CNC G-code programming and Fanuc controls • Ability to follow safety protocols diligently while working with machinery and hand tools • Prior exposure to lean manufacturing principles or plastics injection molding processes is advantageous but not mandatory
