About the role
Commissary Agents are responsible for building all galleys to the clients’ specifications for all scheduled flights. This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with time constraints to meet arrival and departure goals. A professional and positive image must be consistently displayed by the employee. “Lead by Example” concept is strongly promoted. Commissary Agents must report to work on a regular and timely basis and report directly to the supervisor and/or manager on duty. Job Duties • Understand and promote the company core values • Build/strip commissary according to airline specs and schedules within established timelines • Ensure production areas comply with sanitation standards and customer/company requirements • Actively participates in the Safety Management System (SMS) • Complete inventories according to airline requirements • Comply with Sky Café Food policies and procedures. • Actively participate in Sky Café’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations. Understand, comply with, and promote the company Safety Policy • Responsible for maintaining safety and security of the warehouse at all times • Assist in set up, cleaning and storage of equipment and warehouse • Responsible for courteous, prompt, accurate and careful handling of food and goods, including loading and unloading • Receive, perform temperature testing and inspection of catering deliveries from our food service provider • Comply with all Sky Café and airline policies • Constantly communicate with other catering personnel, and respective airline communication centers if applicable • Performs other duties as required Work Environment • Exposure to extreme temperature changes and noise • May be required to work in a cold room of 4 degrees or less for extended periods of time • Must be capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs (23 kg) on a regular basis • Regular standing, bending, and lifting during shift Requirements • Be at least 18 years of age • Obtain a clear criminal record • Ability to obtain necessary airport and security clearances • Ability to work within the required time parameters • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules • Must successfully complete airline and corporate specific training programs and recertification • Must be able to operate all equipment as pertains to the position (forklifts, high lift trucks, catering vans) Core Competencies • Efficiently work as part of a team, as well as independently without direct supervision • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with individuals at all levels of the organization • Works well under pressure and able to meet set deadlines/expectations • Ability to obtain necessary airport security clearances and maintain in good standing • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times • Excellent PRIORITIZING, TIME MANAGEMENT and Organizational skills • An understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, G Mail, Google Drive • Attention to detail in all areas of work • Confident, consistent, decisive personality • Willingness to learn and adapt to a changing work environment • Ability to ensure confidentiality of sensitive information • Operate Equipment in a safe and respectful manner • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
