About the role
Description: Anaheim Achieves Group Leaders (AAGL) provide a safe and nurturing environment for all program participants. They will supervise large group of up to twenty students (ages 5-18 years) in age appropriate academic, literacy, enrichment, sports, homework assistance, and health related activities. The Anaheim Achieves after school program is a safe space for students to receive tutoring, meals, and fun and creative enrichment activity time. This position serves elementary school, junior high school, and high school sites. AAGLs observe and manage behavior of students during the program according to approved policies and procedures under the direction of the site’s program supervisor. They must be alert and sensitive to individual needs of the program participants and follow all health, safety, and risk management practices. AAGLs must attend various on-going training sessions. Please note that during school summer vacation, Anaheim Family YMCA is hiring AAGLs to start work when the next school year begins in August. There may be no or limited hours of work during the summer. Hours: Part-time, non-exempt Must be available from Monday to Friday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm High school hours are from 2:45 pm to 6:17pm Hours will vary and there may be earlier start times as needed as early as 12:00 pm on school minimum days. There may be reduced or no hours during school district days off throughout the school year and during school holiday breaks and summer months.
