Primary hours for this position will be 11:30am-8pm Purpose The Instrument Tech provides supportive assistance to staff in the operating room by ensuring the cleaning and sterilization of surgical equipment. General Job Functions Counts/inventories instrument sets as delivered to dirty work room. Communicates to the scrub when an instrument is missing. Cleans surgical instruments according to manufacturers’ guidelines. Perform sterilization for implants using AORN/AAMI guidelines. Knowledge of what instruments belong in sets. Properly packages decontaminated surgical instruments (sets) for sterilization. Reports and delivers broken equipment to OR Manager/Director.
