About the role
POSITION OVERVIEW : Provide product life cycle support to the breadth of Hussey Seating Company’s product line, including support to limited scope product enhancement and development. This role requires advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to work cross-functionally as well as with external suppliers and customers. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES : Support the Life cycle management of core product lines through maintenance, enhancement, and value engineering initiatives. Implement Engineering Changes (ECs) related to the telescopic and fixed seating product lines. Assist in the development and maintenance of design documentation, drawings, BOM’s, test data, technical manuals, and all other related technical product documentation. Support product and labor cost reduction initiatives in the achievement of annual cost reduction goals. Support Cause and Corrective Action implementations for product related quality issues. Work with Procurement team and vendor base to resolve product and material sourcing issues. Work with the Manufacturing team to resolve issues and implement corrective actions. Assist in the development of product line enhancements / new product line extensions from concept through production release. Assist in the design, setup, and performance of product testing. Document product test procedures and results. Support broader team in problem solving, planning, strategy, etc. COMPETENCIES : (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) Customer focused problem solver. Superior ability to achieve anticipated results in a fast-paced environment. Ability to plan, prioritize, make commitments, and manage several concurrent projects through to completion on schedule. Familiar with metal forming/joining, casting, machining, and molding/extruding plastics processes. Design and manufacturing knowledge of wood components and soft goods is a plus. Comfortable working with common shop tools and building and testing prototypes. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment. History of continuous improvement to reduce waste and improve processes. Can readily adapt to changing scope and priorities EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or Drafting, or equivalent experience. 5+ years’ experience preferred. High level of proficiency in 3D modeling. Experience using rapid prototyping processes and product testing. Experience with ERP and PLM systems is a plus. Proficient with MS Office suite. Occasional, short duration travel is required. Hussey Seating Company uses a market-based approach to compensation. The anticipated starting range for this position is $27.38 to $41.08 per hour. Individual compensation is determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, education, certifications, internal equity, and the responsibilities of the position.
