Position Summary The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Mission Planning & Operations serves as the strategic and operational deputy to the EVP of Mission Services, providing executive-level leadership, coordination, and oversight across all Mission divisions. This role ensures that the 30,000 people served at Goodwill and our team of over 200 strong have strategic alignment and operational excellence across all programs at over a dozen sites in two states. The position functions as a senior integrator and enterprise operator, responsible for aligning strategy to execution across Behavioral Health Services, Services for People with Disabilities, Workforce Development, and related functions. The SVP ensures that Mission priorities are translated into actionable plans, measurable outcomes, and streamlined operations that drive impact for the 30,000 individuals served annually. The SVP acts on behalf of the EVP, driving cross-divisional initiatives, managing executive priorities, and ensuring operational excellence, accountability, and alignment across programs, geographies, and stakeholders. Success will be measured by increasing our impact – in numbers and depth of services all leading to connect more people to personal independence and the power of work. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Execution & Deputy Leadership Serve as a trusted advisor and proxy to the EVP of Mission, representing the EVP in internal and external forums as needed Translate strategic priorities into clear execution plans, milestones, and outcomes. Lead change management efforts across Mission to support new initiatives, systems, and strategic shifts Drive organization-wide initiatives and build systems/processes that advance Mission scalability, growth, innovation, and impact Strengthen communication and collaboration across teams and leadership levels Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement 2. Cross-Divisional Integration & Operations Lead coordination across Behavioral Health, I/DD Services, Workforce, and emerging initiatives to ensure consistent standards and integrated service delivery Identify and address operational gaps, redundancies, and inefficiencies across programs and sites Establish and institutionalize standard operating procedures (SOPs) to drive quality, compliance, and consistency Partner with Finance, People & Culture, Compliance, IT, and Development to ensure seamless execution and alignment 3. Performance Management & Data-Driven Decision Making Develop and oversee performance frameworks, dashboards, and KPIs across all Mission programs Ensure alignment between program targets, contract requirements, and organizational goals Lead efforts to improve data integrity, reporting accuracy, and real-time performance tracking Provide actionable insights to EVP and Executive Team to inform decision-making 4. Project Management Oversee a portfolio of high-priority, cross-functional initiatives (e.g., system implementations, program expansion, process redesign) Build and maintain robust project management infrastructure (dashboards, timelines, accountability tracking) Ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and with measurable impact Drive a culture of discipline, follow-through, and continuous improvement 5. External Stakeholder & Partnership Management In partnership with senior leadership, coordinate engagement with government agencies, funders, employers, and community partners Ensure timely follow-up, communication, and alignment on external initiatives Support the development and implementation of funding strategies, RFPs, and new program opportunities Qualifications 10+ years of senior leadership experience in human services, healthcare, workforce development, or nonprofit management Demonstrated experience overseeing multi-site, multi-program operations Strong background in strategy execution, systems building, and operational leadership Experience working with government contracts, RFPs, and regulated environments Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence without direct authority Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive presence Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills High emotional intelligence and political acuity Preferred Qualifications Experience in behavioral health, disability services, or workforce development Familiarity with New York and/or New Jersey regulatory environments Experience implementing enterprise systems (e.g., CRM, data dashboards, PM tools) #IND1 We believe in creating space for everyone to do their best work and have individual and collective impact.
