The Chronicle is seeking a Senior Analyst, Business Solutions, to join its Technology team. The Business Analyst works in close partnership with product managers who set direction, and focuses on execution: writing and refining stories, managing team backlogs, facilitating UAT, and proactively tracking progress to ensure complete and accurate delivery. What you’ll do: • Write, refine, and maintain user stories across multiple team backlogs, working from direction provided by product managers • Liaise between engineering teams and business stakeholders during execution, ensuring clear communication and shared understanding of requirements • Facilitate or lead sprint planning and backlog refinement sessions • Manage team back logs for all technology delivery teams, keeping items organized, current, and prioritized as directed • Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) sessions with business stakeholders, gathering feedback, validating acceptance criteria, and coordinating sign-off • Track work through completion, including stakeholder engagement during delivery and documentation of discovery outcomes • Author release notes following each sprint or deployment cycle • Serve as a backup Scrum Master, including owning at least one daily stand-up and stepping in for sprint ceremonies when needed Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or similar relevant field is preferred • 1-3 years of experience in a business analyst, associate product owner, project coordinator, or similar delivery-focused role • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to translate conversations and requirements into clear, well-structured user stories and documentation • Comfort working across multiple teams and backlogs simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships, with the confidence to push back on priorities, surface risks early, manage competing demands and hold firm on project scope without escalating conflict. • Familiarity with agile delivery practices (sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, retrospectives) • Experience with project or backlog management tools (TargetProcess, Jira, or similar) • Strong organizational skills and with exceptional attention to detail • A collaborative, low-ego working style and genuine interest in getting things done Additional Preferred Skills and Abilities: • Experience with UAT facilitation or QA coordination • Scrum Master or agile facilitation experience • Familiarity with media, publishing, or subscription-based digital products • Exposure to enterprise platforms such as Brightspot CMS, Auth0, or advertising systems such as Boostr • Experience with NetSuite ERP or other CRM platforms is a plus The Chronicle is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, and we are committed to creating a diverse work environment.
