About the role

The Actuarial Associate supports reserving, financial reporting, capital analysis, and strategic initiatives across U.S. insurance and reinsurance operations. The role contributes to reserve assessments, portfolio monitoring, due diligence exercises, and regulatory reporting, while partnering with actuarial, finance, claims, reinsurance and underwriting teams to deliver insights that support business decisions and risk management. The position requires strong analytical and technical skills, ongoing progress toward actuarial credentials, and effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative field. Strong academic record with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities. Prior actuarial, insurance, or reinsurance experience preferred. Progress toward actuarial credentials (CAS, SOA, or equivalent) preferred; exceptional candidates interested in pursuing actuarial exams or with partial exam progress will also be considered. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with VBA, data analytics, and actuarial software is a plus. Experience with ResQ or similar actuarial reserving software preferred. Understanding of actuarial reserving methodologies, capital analysis, and risk assessment concepts. Familiarity with property & casualty insurance and reinsurance operations. Knowledge of financial reporting, local entity and Group regulatory reporting, and insurance industry practices. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent analytical, quantitative, and technical skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Collaborative team player with the ability to build strong working relationships across functions. Flexible, adaptable, and eager to learn in a dynamic environment. Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and commitment to ongoing professional development. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Responsibilities Support reserve analyses and ongoing portfolio monitoring. Assist with financial reporting, capital analysis, forecasting, and risk assessment activities. Conduct actuarial analyses and prepare supporting documentation, reports, and presentations. Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new portfolios, systems, and actuarial models. Support due diligence activities related to acquisitions, portfolio transfers, and other strategic initiatives. Contribute to regulatory, financial, and management reporting requirements. Assist with special projects and ad hoc analyses as needed. Collaborate effectively with actuarial, finance, claims, underwriting, reinsurance and other business partners. Maintain progress toward actuarial credentials and ongoing professional development. Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and data privacy standards. Identify, escalate, and report risks in accordance with RiverStone's risk management framework. The base salary range for this position is $82,000 - $136,000. The actual compensation offered will be based on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, calculated as a percentage of base salary, in accordance with the applicable bonus plan.
