Episcopal Day School of St. Matthew is seeking a Part-Time (50% FTE) Facilities Technician. The Facilities Technician is skilled and knowledgeable in the proper cleaning and care of the facility including maintenance, custodial, and grounds-keeping tasks . The Facilities Technician ensures the care and upkeep of the campus providing School and Church personnel, students, parents, parishioners and the public with an environmentally safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place in which to work and conduct School and Church activities. The Episcopal Day School campus consists of approximately 44,000 square feet of owned classroom, administrative and sanctuary space on about 2 acres of grounds. Duties and Responsibilities Reports directly to and works closely with the Director of Finance and Operations and Facilities Team to address and solve any concerns, issues or priorities that may arise during the performance of duties. Responsible for all aspects related to maintaining the safety, security, and cleanliness of school facilities throughout the day, including routine cleaning of all bathrooms and faculty lounges, Assists Facilities Manager in repair activities and preventive maintenance for all school-owned mechanical and electrical equipment, including ground equipment, heating, cooling, ventilating, and plumbing equipment. Responsible for cleanup and worksite restoration activities, including picking up of litter and disposing of waste and debris. Assists with security related issues and lock up of the campus. Assists Facilities Manager with inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies. Assists with routine cleaning, repairs, and maintenance throughout the year. Proactively provides support and planning as needed to execute school activities and programs, as well as community events, including setup and teardown of necessary equipment, such as tables, chairs, etc. Acts as first responder, taking appropriate actions in the event of emergency or critical incidents to resolve, confine, and/or prevent potentially injurious or hazardous conditions. Monitors incoming facilities requests, completes work order requests in a timely manner and logs status of requests in FMX Maintenance System. Assists with special projects and custodial duties, as required.
